Trading Pen for Oil
Oil painting was once my “forte”. I had the technical skills to paint aesthetically well, but my ideas didn’t translate well on canvas so I abandoned oil painting in my Chelsea foundtion. 5 years later I return back to what was once my comfort. And I’ve learnt that I am no longer the painter I was. To be fair, my style was very pictorial and realistic. The painting I am attempting, uses colours and shapes of real obects to create abstract pattterns. I will continue another day of painting and see what comes of it. If it’s still shit I will go back to pen and paper.
